Al Maryah Island is a business, leisure and entertainment hub designed to meet Abu Dhabi’s long-term commercial and community needs.
Situated at the midpoint between Abu Dhabi’s existing downtown district, Reem Island and the new cultural district on Saadiyat Island, Al Maryah Island is comprised of commercial, hotel, retail, leisure, healthcare, and residential components.
Boasting landmark architecture and a state-of-the-art, multi-tiered transport infrastructure, Al Maryah Island is establishing itself as a lively urban hub at the heart of the city.
The project involves construction of 4 bridges consisting of Bridges 3, 4, 10 and 11. The bridges will link Al Maryah Island with Hamdan Street and Electra Street on Abu Dhabi island to the west and with Reem Island to the east. According to masterplan documents, two of the new bridges, 10 and 4, will eventually carry Abu Dhabi’s planned light railway system.
The contractors have been instructed to use a special marine construction method to preserve marine life, water quality and ecosystems surrounding Al Maryah Island.
