Deep Tunnel Water Storm System Treviiicos

Between april 2018 and january 2019, Swissboring was involved in the works for the Storm Water System project consisting  of a main tunnel along D-53 road, ( minimum 9 meters diameter and approximately 12,000 meters long) and five construction / drop shafts and connection chambers at the shafts located in the area of Jebel Ali, Dubai.

The completed project serves Al Maktoum Airport area and the nearby urban complexes covering 400 square kilometers. Moreover it involves collecting and transporting of rain and groundwater through underground tunnels into the Gulf waters for disposal as a long-term solution to tackle the issue of rainwater drainage.

Swissboring has been appointed by the Joint Venture PORR-BESIX for the execution of the Diaphragm

Wall for the excavation of the five shafts +five chambers, the shafts have an approximate diameter of 22 meter up to a maximum depth of 52 meter and a wall thickness of 1200m for the implementation of the Storm Water System project in the area of Jebel Ali, Dubai.
